2004 TSCPA Accounting Academy

TSCPA recently hosted 39 high school students from across Tennessee at the Third Annual TSCPA Accounting Academy, a four-day event held at Lipscomb University in Nashville on July 11-14. The Accounting Academy program is designed to introduce high school students to career opportunities in the accounting profession. Participants visited with local accounting firms and businesses, completed interactive case studies and listened to presentations from the area’s business leaders covering a variety of accounting and business related topics.

Participants were selected based on academic achievement and teacher recommendations. The program was offered at no cost to the students who attended.

Thirty-nine students from across Tennessee participated in the 2004 Accounting Academy program.

The students listened attentively during the presentation at Ernst & Young, LLP.

“There are even more
opportunities in accounting
than I knew before.”
