Message from the President |
|
Chapter
Members:
Fall is my favorite time of year. The weather cools
considerably from summer, there are football games all of
the time and everyone who’s licensed is calculating how to
squeeze those CPE hours in before December!
TSCPA President Mike Cain and
Executive Director Brad Floyd are visiting the chapter for the October meeting, so please
consider attending to hear the state of TSCPA. For those of you who did
not attend the September luncheon, the TSCPA headquarters has bestowed an
exemplary honor upon our chapter. Last winter the Memphis Chapter led the
charge statewide by donating over $38,000 to headquarters for the new
building addition. Because of our chapter’s generosity, the main board room
will be named the “Memphis Room.” Thank you headquarters for this
honor!
One of the TSCPA Council’s primary directives
is educating today’s students about the profession. Many of us have great
stories to tell about our careers. Have you ever shared them with a high
school or college student? All you need to be willing to do is to volunteer
an hour or two of your time. We even have a video that explains about the
diverse opportunities in the profession. Please call Ginny Szalay at
901/683-8899 and we’ll get you involved!
We’ll see everyone on Oct. 14
and let’s give a warm welcome to both Mike and Brad!
Ted
