Policies and ProceduresRegistration InformationRegistration for CPE classes is open to anyone. Discount fees are available to members of the TSCPA* and/or AICPA**. *TSCPA Member DiscountYou may qualify to receive the TSCPA member discount fee if you are a CPA and have paid your TSCPA membership dues. (NOTE: TSCPA membership is on an individual basis only, not by firm/company.) **AICPA Member DiscountAICPA members will receive a $30 discount per day off the price of designated 8-hour and 16-hour AICPA-sponsored courses. This discount is available until the date of the course and cannot be applied retroactively. Designated AICPA courses will be identified in all marketing pieces by this symbol: µ. Members of the AICPA who are not members of the state society are NOT entitled to the TSCPA member discount. Register Early - Avoid Cancellations!Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. You are welcome to call the society office to check course availability. However, you cannot reserve a space in class without full payment. All registrations should be received by TSCPA at least 10 days prior to the course date. If a sufficient number of registrations have not been received, the course will be cancelled. You will be offered the chance to transfer to another class or receive a refund. One person per form please. Registration forms may be found in the back of the CPE Guide and in the Tennessee CPA Journal or at www.tscpa.com/cpe/cperegistration.pdf. Registration forms may be photocopied. You may also register on TSCPA’s Web site at www.tscpa.com/Public/. If paying by MasterCard or Visa, you may fax your registration to either 615/309-8054 or 615/377-3904. Registrations may be mailed to: 201 Powell Place, Brentwood, TN 37027. Registrations are accepted in letter form but must include the same information requested on the registration form. Registration ConfirmationRegistrations will be confirmed via e-mail. Please READ YOUR CONFIRMATION carefully to verify course information including date, location, time, etc. Occasionally, there may be an important change - such as location - to accommodate more participants for courses in high demand. Please do not assume that you are registered for a course. If you have not received confirmation at least two (2) business days prior to the course date, contact the society office to verify receipt of your registration. Program HoursPlease refer to your confirmation notice which will indicate exact times. Many courses begin at 8 a.m. and end at 4 p.m., but always check your confirmation notice to be sure. No SmokingThere is increasing pressure from health officials, non-smokers and discussion leaders to provide a smoke-free environment. Smoking is prohibited in all TSCPA-sponsored programs. “Smoking permitted” areas shall include outdoor areas and other areas as posted. Communication DevicesIn order to maintain a comfortable and productive learning environment for participants, unnecessary distractions within the classroom must be avoided. All disruptive communication devices, including cellular phones, beepers and the use of desktop computers are prohibited from all TSCPA CPE courses except ACPEN Satellite broadcasts where cellular phones allow for course participation. Verification of AttendanceA copy of the Verification of Attendance, noting the credits earned, will be e-mailed within two weeks of the program. Attendance is monitored throughout the entire program. CPE hours will be adjusted for late arrivals, early departures and “no shows.” Upon your arrival each day, please check in with the course administrator to ensure proper credit. Hotels and MapsFor the convenience of out-of-town registrants, a list of hotels and course location maps, including addresses and phone numbers of the course sites, is provided on our Web site at www.tscpa.com/cpe/directions.aspx. Special NeedsThe Tennessee Society of CPAs works to select only those CPE program locations which are in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you have special needs, please contact TSCPA at 615/377-3825 or 1-800/762-0272 so that necessary preparations may be made. FeesThe registration fee for one, two or three-day seminars/conferences (except ACPEN CPE Satellite Series courses, Account-Fest, Computer courses, Let’s Do Brunch and Let’s Do Lunch) includes: Late FeesA $40 late fee will be assessed for registrations received less than two (2) weeks before the program requested. Transfers/Cancellations/SubstitutionsCPE Courses: An administrative fee of $30 will be deducted from each registration fee refunded when a cancellation is received eight (8) days or more prior to the presentation date. Cancellations received seven (7) days or less will be subject to a cancellation fee of 50 percent of the full program fee. A refund of the registration fee will not be issued if the registrant does not attend the course (“no show”). A cancellation will not be accepted on or after the course presentation date. All course refunds will be made payable to the individual or firm by check if the original payment was made by check. If original payment was by MasterCard or Visa, a credit will be issued to the card. TSCPA Chapter Events: If We Cancel a CourseA course will be cancelled if the minimum number of participants necessary to hold a course is not met by at least two weeks prior to the course date. When a course is cancelled, you will be notified by the TSCPA Professional Development Department and given the choice to transfer into another course or receive a full refund. NoteTSCPA is not responsible for any personal expenses incurred if a course is cancelled or moved to another location. Special NotesFor your comfort, it is best to dress in layers, no matter what the season. Climate control affects everyone differently, and what may be warm to some may seem a bit cool to others. Remember to bring a pen and a calculator to CPE courses so you are prepared if a need arises.
