Description: Over the last several years, there has been a great deal of buzz (and confusion) about internal control over financial reporting, the role that internal control plays in helping an auditor assess audit risk, not to mention concerns over communications of internal control weaknesses. In this session, Chuck will talk about internal control from the preparer?s perspective and what is necessary to design and implement an effective system of internal control over financial reporting. Chuck will also discuss how the strength or weakness of those controls affect an auditor?s risk assessment and what an auditor can and can not do to help clients in this regard.
