President's Message

Chapter Members:

Fall is all around us! What a beautiful time of year this is, as the leaves burst forth with a multitude of colors. We are to be reminded of what a beautiful place we all live in. Make the time to drive through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and see all of natures wonder at work. Take a walk through Cades Cove, breath that wonderful aroma that only comes in the autumn air.

Christmas is fast upon us! What a great turn out for the golf tournament. Ben and his committee did an exceptional job putting together the event. We raised more than $6,800 for the Angel Tree Organization. Remember we can still help by participating in the Children’s Prayer Answered Program. Don’t forget as we go about our own hustle and bustle of the shopping that what we do can and does make all the difference in a child’s life.

As we near the election for the new president of the United States of America, let us pray for this great nation. Let us pray for the who that have been affected by the down sloping economy, the businesses, the families and our communities. May we see a renewed spirit in our nation! May we remember that we are truly one nation under God, and through him all things are possible!

Again and always, if any board member or I can help you or better serve you in anyway please do not hesitate to let me know.

John Wilson Kirk, CPA
Knoxville Chapter President

Angel Tree / Children’s Prayers Answered Program

Yes! It is that time of year already!

Once again, the members of the Knoxville Chapter will have a chance to help those less fortunate. In cooperation with the Angel Tree Organization of Knoxville, children’s wishes will be available at the October and November meetings.

Gifts must be returned on or before the December meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 9. Last year we provided more than 460 gifts, not counting those purchased with the golf tournament proceeds of approximately $8,000.

We are looking for firm/company coordinators and shoppers. If you are willing to assist, please let us know. The responsibilities are small when compared to the rewards.

If you have questions or this program is new to you, feel free to contact Janice Smith (smith@BHSpc.com, 865/546-2300), Angela Sparks (asparks@lbmc.com, 865/-862-6536) or any of the committee members.
