Introducing TSCPA's 2009-10 Chair, David A. Curbo, CPA
David A. Curbo, CPA, of Germantown, was named chair of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants at TSCPA’s 79th Annual Convention and Educational Conference. Curbo is a partner with Cannon & Company, PC, in Memphis. He has been a member of TSCPA for 29 years, holding various leadership positions at the chapter and state levels. He served the Memphis Chapter as a board member and was elected chapter president in 2000 and vice-president of the state society in 2006. At the state level, Curbo has held positions on TSCPA’s Council, as well as a number of state committees, including the Accounting & Auditing Symposium Committee, Professional Development Committee and Peer Review Committee and is currently serving on the Finance Committee and the Personnel Committee. As society chair, Curbo will serve as chairman of the TSCPA Board of Directors, which is the governing body of the association and establishes policy for all society activities. Curbo also concurrently serves as chair of the Board of Trustees of TSCPA’s Educational & Memorial Foundation, which provides comprehensive continuing education for CPAs and gives academic scholarships. Last year, the foundation awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships to accounting students attending Tennessee’s colleges and universities. Other TSCPA members serving as officers with Curbo are: Chair-elect Jack A. (Andy) Bonner Jr., CPA, of Kingsport, a principal with Dent K. Burk Associates, PC; Vice Chair M. David Haddock Jr., CPA, of Nashville, the director of training at Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain, PC; Secretary Henry A. Hoss, CPA, of Chattanooga, a partner with Barto, Hoss & Company, PC; and Treasurer Katherine G. Watts, CPA, of Brownsville, a partner with HORNE LLP.
