Legislative and Regulatory ActivitiesOne of TSCPA's most important member services is acting as a "watchdog" on legislative issues. Under the direction of the Legislation Committee, the society staff and outside legal counsel regularly review legislative and regulatory proposals for provisions affecting the accounting profession. When such issues are identified, TSCPA works to shape these proposals to promote the interests of the public and the profession. TSCPA also works closely with the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy to ensure fair administration of the Tennessee Accountancy Act. Member Discount Programs

Scholarship ProgramsThe Educational & Memorial Foundation of TSCPA awards scholarships each year to Tennessee college and university students majoring in accounting. The Scholarship Committee's highest honor, the Paul L. Royston Award is granted each year to the top accounting student in Tennessee. Peer ReviewTSCPA administers reviews for Tennessee firms that are members of the AICPA according to AICPA standards. Through an agreement between the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy and TSCPA, all firms enrolled in the program are exempt from the mandatory review program conducted by the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy. PublicationsTSCPA publications offer members the benefit of information. The Tennessee CPA Journal provides technical articles relevant to CPAs as well as new laws and information impacting the profession, while TSCPA Hotwire is an electronic newsletter providing members with current news and announcements.
